In August 2014, Dr. Mary Christine F. Palma, felt it was high time for our society to have a hymn. I had the honor of being assigned as the composer. Dr. Cynthia F. Tan recommended the genius of Mr. Noel D. Espenida, a seasoned composer – arranger, to lay down the final professional touches of our hymn. A fast, instrumental version was also created to be played during the culmination of SGOP events.

Dr. Aileen P. Tomboc and Dr. Merlind M. Morales created the video of the hymn depicting the various significant activities of SGOP and its members through the years.

“Pangako ng SGOP sa Kababaihan” is a constant reminder and expression of our individual and collective commitment to all women. It symbolizes our history and aims to inspire continuous camaraderie compelling us to further enrich our knowledge and skills as Gynecologic Oncologists. It is with great pride and gratitude that I was invited and trusted by our society to take part in its creation. Salamat, SGOP!
